Why acai smoothie bowls? Why not a mango lassi smoothie bowl topped with all my tropical favourites: Nature’s Path Coconut Chia organic granola, goji berries, coconut flakes, Brazilian nuts and kiwi.
I have to confess I have never made a smoothie bowl in my life. However, as part of my healthy path journey I’m trying to step outside of my comfort zone. And it is true – if you want to be healthy not “on” and “off” you have to incorporate new types of meals and foods otherwise it gets boring and you will fall back to bad old food habits.

So, why acai? Do you ever buy acai? Like is there a secret Costco that sells a 5lb bag of acai for $10?! I have never even tried it but acai smoothie bowl is the most popular recipe among smoothie bowl recipes. Maybe acai is like blueberry in some parts of the world?! Definitely not the case here, in a rainy Pacific Northwest.
So, no acai for me. What I have on hand at all times is a huge bag of frozen mango. Guess from where? That is right, Costco.

Nature’s Path people love to keep me on my tippy toes and pick my brain for their granola recipe ideas. In fact, that is why this brand is ahead of the world in coming up with new, healthy and trendy breakfast and snack products.
Just look at their selection?! No wonder they are so popular. I do not mind because all Nature’s Path products besides being tasty are good for you, making it easy for me not to steer off my healthy path. I get a treat and keep myself within boundaries.

So, yesterday after 1.5 hours of packing my crazy bunch, working out and shower, I came down to my kitchen totally intimidated. Like why can’t we just make a smoothie and drink it?! Why do we have to pour it in a bowl like we would do with oatmeal?!
This is exactly why. No smoothie can compare to this pillowy soft liquid with crazy healthy crunchy toppings. Now I finally get the smoothie bowl craziness.

The fact that you can top a smoothie with all good for you ingredients makes a smoothie bowl so popular. And we discussed how healthy breakfasts can quickly become boring. So, I think that is why smoothie bowls became so popular.
This time I used full of Omegas and fibre organic granola. The flavours of coconut totally made sense to accompany a mango lassi smoothie. Larger Brazilian nuts are one of my faves because of the size, taste and soft crunch. More toasted larger size coconut flakes. Goji berries…I wish they were cheaper but as a treat I can afford this superfood once in a while. Goji berries do not taste sweet but rather a tiny bit bitter with a chewy texture.

Epic, epic, epic snack or breakfast. I already have an idea for another tropical flavour smoothie bowl in green colours. Stay tuned. And do not forget On My Healthy Path Giveaway from Nature’s Path is still running until February 8th.
